The Hospital Stay
Most patients stay in the hospital about one to two nights after endoscopic pituitary surgery, where the team watches hormone levels and fluid balance closely.
Nasal Symptoms and Care
Expect nasal congestion, drainage, and a reduced sense of smell for a time. Avoid nose-blowing and heavy straining while the nasal passage heals, and follow your team's sinus-care instructions.
Hormone Monitoring
Your team watches for water-balance changes (excessive thirst and urination, or a delayed drop in sodium) and for low cortisol. Some patients need hormone replacement, sometimes temporarily and sometimes long term.
Returning to Normal Activity
Many patients return to light activity within a couple of weeks, with a follow-up MRI and bloodwork to confirm the result. Your team will tell you when to resume exercise and work.Become our Patient.
